When He Offered Up Himself

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

When He Offered Up Himself

"For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself"

Hebrews 7:26-27

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, made the supreme sacrifice, for our sins and for the sins of this world, "Once for all," when "He offered up Himself ." This is our great high "priest forever according to the order of Melchizadek" (Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 7:17). Because our Lord Jesus, while He walked the earth, kept Himself "holy, innocent, undefiled" and "separated from sinners" (meaning separate from sin), He therefore kept His New Covenant sacrificial blood pure and intact. When Jesus’ body was crucified and "the new covenant in my blood" (Luke 22:20) was shed, this was the loving act of our High Priest offering Himself, His Own unblemished blood, "for the sins of the people." Jesus, our High Priest, gave His all for us.

Let us respond and give our all for Him. Become a free-will-offering priest unto your Lord and High Priest today and give thanks in God’s presence for our holy High Priest, Jesus, Who has given Himself as the "once for all"sacrifice for our sins. Let us love, actively, in His presence and in this world, our Lord and High Priest forever. In God’s gracious love, His word says, "it was fitting for us to have such a high priest." Oh hallelujah Lord. You have "fit" us perfectly into Yourself through Your Son, our Savior, Lord, and High Priest. Your love for us, revealed to us through the New Covenant and all that Jesus has accomplished, is so great.

Lord may we be your faithful priesthood in these last days, so we may honor You and bless Your Name, and so that Your entire church may know the supreme, present moment, truth of Christ our Lord and priest forever. May this be so, In Jesus’ Name. Hallelujah!
