Our Bread Of Life Was Born In The House Of Bread

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

Our Bread Of Life Was Born In The House Of Bread

"But as for you Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity"

Micah 5: 2

Praise God, even the name of the "too little" town that our Abba Father chose for Christ to be born for us is part of the prophecy of Messiah. The word "Bethlehem" means "house of bread." Our Messiah God was born in Bethlehem, the house of bread. He Who would later declare "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven (John 6:51) was born in Bethlehem, the house of bread. Our loving Father God wanted everyone one to know that not only was Messiah coming but also why Messiah was coming. Jesus Christ, Immanuel (God with us) was born in Bethlehem, the house of bread, that He might be recognized and received as the bread of life for all people. There is more than enough bread in God’s house of bread to feed and fulfill everybody in Jesus Christ, if one will but come to Jesus, "the living bread that came down out of heaven."

Our Lord went on to say, in this verse from John, "if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I give for the life of the world is my flesh" (John 6:51). It’s wonderful to see that the very nature of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection are all foretold in the word "Bethlehem." Bless our Lord, Let us go to Christ in Bethlehem today, God’s house of bread within us, and let us gratefully pray, "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11). Amen, let us partake of God’s "live forever" bread, the bread of Christ Jesus our Lord, Who has promised "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger" (John 6:35).

I encourage you to develop a hunger for God that can only satisfied by God Himself. In this way you will ensure that you are making your way to Bethlehem, continuously, to partake of your daily bread, this "live forever" bread, with your Gracious Lord Jesus, your One and only true and faithful "Bread of Life." He satisfies our hunger always. Hallelujah!
