Newness Of Life, Strength, And Refreshment In His Presence

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

Newness Of Life, Strength, And Refreshment In His Presence

"Your people will volunteer freely in the day of Your power; in holy array, from the womb of the dawn, Your youth are to You as the dew"

Psalm 110:3

I have been writing about our own "holy array," as God’s present day kingdom of priests, which was prophesied in the Old testament. I want to share some beautiful "bearing witness" words from a favorite Bible commentary I have, from the 1800's (Jamieson - Fausset - Brown), concerning this passage from Psalm 110. I know you will be blessed.

"‘Thy people are free-will offerings,’ for such is the proper rendering of the word. ‘In the beauties of holiness’ ["In holy array"] - either as Psalm 29:2, the loveliness of spiritual worship, of which the temple service, in all its material splendors, was but a type; or more probably, the appearance of the worshipers, who, in this spiritual kingdom, are a nation of kings and priests (1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:5) attending THIS priest and king, clothed in those eminent graces which the beautiful vestments of the Aaronic priests (Leviticus 16:4) typified. ‘From the womb... youth’ - may, according to this view, be thus explained: the word "youth" denotes a period of life distinguished for strength and activity - and the "dew" is a constant emblem of whatever is refreshing and strengthening - refreshed and strengthened by the early dew of God’s grace and Spirit."

It blesses me to see Christians, in the 1800s, recognizing our present day New Covenant priesthood to our God. So, as we minister to our Lord, our King (Vs 1) and High Priest (Vs 4), as His Own free-will people, being a free-will offering in His presence, as His priests, we become clothed with "youth" and "dew," representing newness of life in Christ, strength, and refreshment. This is our gracious "holy array" that we are clothed in as we worship in our Lord’s presence. "Volunteer freely" today, beloved, and see yourself worshiping your Lord in this blessed state of "holy array." Hallelujah!
