"Station Yourselves" - Praising Instead Of Fighting

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"Station Yourselves" - Praising Instead Of Fighting

"‘You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf.’ When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, so they were routed"

2 Chronicles 20: 17&22

Jehoshaphat had become king after his father Asa died, when the land of Judah was invaded by "a great multitude" (2 Chron. 20:2). Scripture says, "Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the Lord" (2 Chron. 20:3). Jehoshaphat said to the Lord, "We are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You" (2 Chron. 20:12) It was then that "the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel" (2 Chron. 20:14) the prophet, who said, "Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s" (2 Chron. 20:15). It was within this encouragement and exhortation that Jahaziel said, "You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf." Praise God. And "when they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes" against the enemy and "they were routed."

O beloved child of God, do you feel as if there is a multitude rising up against you? Don’t be afraid. Don’t run to the fight. Instead, seek the Lord and "station" yourself. Station yourself in God’s holy presence and sing praises to Him. Our natural reaction might well be to fight back against whatever we feel is against us, but let us hear our Lord’s greatly encouraging and compassionate words, "You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the Lord." Oh yes, let us station ourselves. Let us look to God and minister to Him in His presence. Yes beloved, allow yourself this wonderful grace, this divine mercy; to station yourself in God’s presence, to begin "singing and praising," and then "stand and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf" as He routes the enemy.

Yes, God has vanquished the enemy, and here you are, still "singing and praising" in your Abba Father’s precious presence. Never forget, if you ever feel "powerless before this great multitude," this is not the whole truth. As beloved children of God and priests ministering to our Lord (Acts 13:2, 1 Peter 2:9) let us gather in His presence, always, to minister to Him and to allow our gracious God to be strong on our behalf, to deliver us in His love while He routes the enemy. Hallelujah!
