His Reward Is With Him

Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

His Reward Is With Him

"Behold, the Lord God will come with might, with His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him and His recompense before Him. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes"

Isaiah 40: 10-11

I praise my God that "His reward is with Him!" Yesterday I shared a bit concerning the nature of God’s reward to us, His beloved children. This was in reference to Jesus’ instructing us to go into "your inner room" to meet with "your Father who is in secret," and that "your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you" (Matthew 6:6). I also shared Jesus’ words, at the close of the book of Revelation, where He declared, "Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with Me" (22:12).

Our best and most spectacular reward is: our Lord Himself. This is His gracious "with Me" reward extended to each of us, that we may be "with Him" in all of His awesome glory and tender love. Christ, Himself, is our treasure. The reward I desire is more of Thee My Lord. Thank You Jesus. When I read Jesus’ words saying, "Behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with Me," I receive all of what He says, not only in a future sense, but also in a here-right-now sense. And do you know what? He came quickly! How about that?! And His reward is with Him! Bless His holy name!

This scripture from the prophet Isaiah is where these words of Jesus originated. This is the "with Me" reward in prophetic form, which, thank God, is now fulfilled for us in Jesus Christ. When we step into our "inner room" to minister to Abba Father with Jesus Christ our High Priest, we are in the presence of the "with Me" reward. So, Isaiah wrote, "His reward is with Him" and then described Messiah in this way, "Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in His bosom." Jesus Christ is our Good Shepherd. When we enter our "inner room" to be with God, we are in the presence of the One Who carries us "in His bosom."

God is carrying us in His heart, so let us carry Him in our heart. "Ministering to the Lord" (Acts 13:2) keeps us in an ever aware state of this grand privilege we have been granted, this continual access to the Holy of Holies within our "inner room" where we have gladly become "a temple of God" (1 Corinthians 3:16). Ministering to the Lord is pressing into the heartbeat of God. What a reward, to be with Him. Hallelujah!
