A New Life
In Jesus’ Own Words
Introduction
Why did Jesus come to earth? Did He need to die upon the cross?
What is His message to us today?
These are important issues and, through this booklet, Jesus answers these questions for you in His own words.
Taken from the four Gospels and the book of Revelation, “A New Life In Jesus’ Own Words” makes clear what Jesus is offering each of us for our lives.
As you read the words of Jesus contained in this booklet, my prayer is that you will joyfully embrace the reality of a new life in Christ; a new life filled with an abundance of grace, mercy and unchanging love.
God bless you.

“The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
JESUS - JOHN 6:63
Why did Jesus come to earth?
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” LUKE 4:18
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
JOHN 10:10

“The Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” LUKE 9:56
“I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.” JOHN 12:47
How did Jesus plan on reaching us?
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
JOHN 14:6, 8:32, 8:36
“The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many.” MARK 10:45
“I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.”
JOHN 10:11
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” JOHN 12:32
“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” JOHN 10:17-18
Did Jesus know He would die for us?
“The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.” LUKE 9:22
“The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him; and after that He is killed, He shall rise the third day.” MARK 9:31
“Ye know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.” MATTHEW 26:2
“Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify Him: and the third day He shall rise again.” MATTHEW 20:18-19
How important is New Life?
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” MATTHEW 16:26
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

“This is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” MATTHEW 26:28

“Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” JOHN 4:14
“The Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins.” MATTHEW 9:6
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” MATTHEW 5:6
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whoso-ever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned.” JOHN 3:14-18

A Word from Wayne
In 1972, when I was 20 years old and didn’t even believe God existed, I had an experience with Jesus that forever changed my life.
A friend at work began sharing with me that it was possible to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
I thought to myself that, if this indeed was the truth, I wanted it. At that point I knew, if I never honestly opened my heart to God, I would always have the “but-what-if” question lingering in my mind.
And now, many years later, I continue to thank God every day for the tremendous joy, peace and contentment I realize because I know Him. He is the Living Water within me and His springs constantly nourish my soul. My own feelings are well expressed in the words of King David, “Thy lovingkindness is better than life” (Psalm 63:3).
His Life is always A New Life - it gets better every day.

“Whosoever cometh to Me, and heareth My sayings, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.”
JESUS - LUKE 6:47-48
