Centering Ourselves In God’s Full Counsel Of Peace

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Behold a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of the Lord. Yes it is He who will build the temple of the Lord, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices’”

Zechariah 6:12-13

Hallelujah, beloved child and priest of God, Jesus Christ, our indwelling, abiding, resurrected Lord, is the High Priest of our priesthood and He is Lord of our New Covenant, He Himself being God’s New Covenant.

The word “testament”, as in New Testament, literally means covenant, law, and will. God’s new law, testament, will, and covenant is that Jesus Christ is both Lord of the Covenant and High Priest to God over His New Covenant Priesthood (us). “And the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.”

Jesus Christ is our “Priest on His throne.” He is our King. He is our High Priest. His counsel to us is always one of peace and life because, “He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14).

Our Lord and Priest’s counsel of peace to us is beautifully seen continuing in heaven, in this passage from the book of Revelation, “They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they are before the throne of God [as His priests]; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. The Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:14-15,17).

Praise God, even in heaven we see our High Priest and Lord’s tender care and ministry of peace to us, shepherding us and Personally guiding us “to springs of the water of life” even as He wipes “every tear from their eyes.”

Well, we need this reality right now, don’t we, throughout the entire body of Christ; the reality of Who Jesus Christ truly and completely is in this moment, our “Lord” and “Priest forever” (Psalm 110:1,4), and the reality of who, we his children, truly are; His New Covenant kingdom of priests.

The body of Christ needs, right now, our Lord and Priest’s “counsel of peace”, Who in His wisdom, is both King and Priest ruling on His Own throne.

Let Jesus Christ shepherd you today into His “counsel of peace.” Key to this is our acknowledgement, reception, and understanding of Christ being both our “Lord” and “Priest forever.” For it is in this confession, of the fullness of Christ, that we may behold “the counsel of peace... between the two offices.” If we don’t recognize and subject ourselves to “the two offices” of Jesus Christ, Lord and Priest on one throne, then we may not see or understand His counsel of peace to us.

Recognize and declare the Lordship and priesthood of Christ on His throne and you will have entered into the clearly designated path of His counsel of peace.

Bless the Lord in His infinite love and wisdom. All of the prophecies we have looked at point us to Jesus Christ, in whom God’s promise to David of a perpetual Lordship and to the priesthood of a perpetual High Priest are fulfilled. Both promises meet together in One Person, Jesus Christ, Who sits upon the throne, even now.

“Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts” (1 Peter 3:15) this day, as your Lord and High Priest forever. Worship Him and receive His “counsel of peace” as you linger in His presence.

Hallelujah!
