You Have Become God’s Resting Place
Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Thus says the Lord, ‘Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word’”
Isaiah 66:1&3
God has come to us that we might, among other things, find true rest in Him, even as our Savior has said, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
In this Scripture from Isaiah, we see the other side of this coin. We see our Lord God looking for a place where He may rest. Where could it be? God is so big. He sits upon His throne in heaven even as His feet rest upon His footstool on earth. No house could ever be built that could contain God.
Yet our Lord God’s Own expressed desire, which has come to fruition, in us, through Christ our in-dwelling Savior, is that He looks for a people, who would be His, so that, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (2 Corinthians 6:16).
This is where our Lord God desires to rest... in us!
Even as you rest in Jesus Christ this day, resting in Who He is and in all He has done for you, realize also that you have become God’s Own resting place, a place where the Lord may dwell!
So, when Abba Father says, “And where is a place that I may rest,” beloved child, joyfully say to your Father, “O my God, You may rest in me even as I rest in You now, in Jesus Christ, as Your humble, contrite servant, worshiping in Your presence and awaiting with trembling Your holy word. O my Lord, may You be pleased in this, your vessel, prepared for You. Thank You for living in me even as I live in You Lord.”
Say this often, for this is true. Yes, you are God’s resting place. Hallelujah!
