“For This Reason” I Am A Minister To The Lord
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, ‘These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?’ I said to him, ‘My lord, you know.’ And he said to me, ‘These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.’”
Revelation 7:13-15
According to this passage of Scripture, what is the one and only “reason” why these redeemed saints “are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple?” It is simply and fully this, “they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
Because of being cleansed in and of the blood of the Lamb, that’s THE reason why these saints are ministering to the Lord continually.
This is the precise and exact same reason for me right now. It is because of my Savior’s precious and redeeming New Covenant blood, the blood of the sacrificial lamb shed on my behalf; “For this reason” alone, I am living before Him as a priest in His presence, each day, and it is a joy to know I can freely minister in His presence day and night.
We are, as Christians, all saved by the blood of the Lamb and we have all been purchased by this same blood specifically to be God’s present day kingdom of priests, ministering to our Lord.
Remember, it was the living beings in heaven, who “fell down before the Lamb” (Revelation 5:8) and declared, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break the seals; for you were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10).
So, in this account today, from Revelation chapter seven, we see washed in the blood saints immediately occupying themselves as priests to God upon their arrival into heaven. Meanwhile, here on earth, God’s present day body of Christ seems to know absolutely nothing about our priesthood call and the blood of our Savior purchasing us for this purpose. Why? Is there any good reason?
The very purpose, declared in Scripture (Revelation 5:9-10), as to WHY Christ has purchased me with His blood, is so that He might present me to God as a member of His Own “kingdom and priests to our God.” This is directly, exactly, what God’s Word says and I receive it... humbly, joyfully, gratefully. What a blessing - to actually be the type of Christian that Christ has specifically purchased, with His Own blood, to be!
I am before You day and night my God, in the inner room, the inner court of Your presence within, so that I my bless You and thank You, and be transformed from glory to glory in Your presence even as I minister to You, freshly tasting and seeing that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8).
“For this reason,” for the reason of honor, respect, and obedience to the blood of Christ, that has made us new and clean and washed in our Lord, “for this reason” let every single Christian this day, as a blood redeemed priest, actually be “before the throne of God; and... serve Him day and night in His temple.”
This is the blessed and the best place for you and I to be, before the throne of our God and serving Him day and night in His temple. Yes let us BE who God has made us to be - His Own blood purchased and washed “kingdom and priests to our God.”
“For this reason” thank Him today! Bless Him today! Be with Him perpetually! Hallelujah!
