Complete Fullness And Rest In The Yoke With Jesus

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”

Matthew 11:29

For the past three days I have been encouraging you (successfully I hope) to actively take the yoke of Jesus upon you in worship, in reading God’s word, and as you go out into the world.

Accepting and understanding the yoke of Jesus upon you in these ways represents having the covering presence and fellowship of Jesus upon you in Spirit (worship), truth (God’s word), and practice (in the world).

There is such a simple and complete fullness for us to experience when we are in the yoke with Jesus in each of these ways. We are blessed to learn from Him, and to be changed by Him, as we remain in His yoke with Him.

When we actually do as Jesus said, “take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,” we become submitted to His effectual leading us and teaching us.

There is true rest for our souls as we see our Lord’s continually committed presence in us, His wisdom towards us, and His covering over us as we worship, read His word , and walk in this world.

You see, when we are in the yoke with Jesus, our emphasis becomes more about Him than about what we are doing. It is the truth of our being in His presence, under His gentleness and His humility, that transforms our times - in worship, in His word, and in this world - into divine opportunities for us to “learn from Me” in all things. We learn from Him in His yoke and we also gain a greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ when we are consciously in His yoke with Him. We learn from Him. And we learn Him, Himself; that He truly is gentle and humble in heart as He leads us and teaches us in the fellowship of His yoke.

Here is our true rest for our souls today - in Him, Himself; our gracious, loving, all covering, protective, High Priest, Good Shepherd, complete life Savior. Our peace is in His presence. Our rest is in our being with Him in the blessed yoke of Jesus.

Oh Praise You Lord God for the blessed yoke of Your Own presence, wisdom, and power. I rest in You and bless Your name Lord Jesus. Hallelujah!
