That I May Dwell In The House Of The Lord All The Days Of My Life

Today’s Word of Encouragement From Wayne:

That I May Dwell In The House Of The Lord All The Days Of My Life

“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple”

Psalm 27:4

These are the words of someone who knew the blessed truth and reality of ministering to the Lord.

There was just one thing David was asking of the Lord, and he sought after that one thing. David’s desire was to “dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.”

You and I have the house of the Lord within us now, so we may, by the grace of God and the blood of Christ, live “all the days” of our lives in God’s presence, as ministers and priests to our God.

In God’s presence there are two divine blessings always present. The first is that we “behold the beauty of the Lord.” And the second is that we “meditate in His temple.”

This was the pure heart of David, to be a minister to God in His presence “all the days of my life.”

Let us be awake and alive to this rich blessing of our Lord. Because we live with the “temple of God” in us now (1 Corinthians 3:16), as new covenant children of God though Jesus Christ, Who “has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father” (Revelation 1:6), we have the blessed privilege, and the call, to “behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple” at all times.

Beloved child of God, occupy the house of the Lord within you today with the same heart that David expressed. Ask for this one thing and then seek after this one thing, and you will always find yourself being led into God’s presence, ministering as a priest to your Lord, beholding His beauty and meditating upon Him, all the days of your life. Thank Him. Bless Him.

Let God rain/reign His beauty upon you to the degree that you become transformed in His presence even as you meditate upon Him. Hallelujah!
