A Flowing River Within Us Right Now

Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water’"

John 7:38

Drinking Jesus is the same as believing, actively, in Jesus. As we believe in Jesus our Savior, moment by moment, with all of our faith, hope, and love directed in spirit to Him, we realize His Holy Spirit is living water within us, with the result that our faith is enlarged even as His living water surges, flowing from our innermost being. There is a flowing river within us right now; unbroken, with no pauses or gaps, continuously bathing, cleansing, and purifying us in the never-ending living waters of our Lord.

The reality within us now, available to us every day, of this fellowship in God’s living waters, is a preview of our much larger eternal life in heaven to come where, Scripture says, "He showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Revelation 22:1). The living water within us now, I believe Scripture intends us to see, is this same river, "coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb."

This is a first-fruits flow, God’s Holy Spirit flowing as this crystal clear river within us now, and every day, as we sojourn here on earth, until that time when we will finally and forever stand on the banks of this very same river, praising God our complete Savior for His precious living water that so faithfully strengthened our lives in Christ on earth so we may have this eternal experience in heaven, forever with Him, in the pure loving Presence of the Lord our Shepherd.

After all, this is our true destination, the final “sheepfold” our Lord has prepared for us. Drink deeply today beloved child of God and be renewed in the living waters of our Lord. Hallelujah!
