Love Bade Them Go
Today’s Word of Encouragement from Wayne:
"Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him"
Matthew 28:1 & 9
Perhaps these two women might have hesitated when they saw Jesus alive, Whom they thought was in the grave. They could have been awestruck, or have feinted, or have been fearful, or have run away, or have kneeled at a distance. But that’s not what happened here. When they saw Jesus, love bade them go immediately to Jesus’ feet, and take hold of His feet in worship and adoration. They worshiped God. Jesus’ word was true. He is risen, alive forever, and He dwells now in us.
Oh beloved child of God, learn to love worshiping at the feet of Jesus, humbly in the presence of your God, Who has promised, "Lo, I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20). Through Isaiah, God said “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool” (Isaiah 66:1). When we humbly and devotedly take hold of Jesus’ feet in His presence and worship Him, we honor God at His footstool and, as a result, become connected with His throne in heaven, in a divine flow of heavenly praise in the presence of our God. Always remember, when you worship at Jesus’ feet, you are touching resurrection life, just like these two women did who, because they ran to Him in love, were the first people to touch our resurrected Savior.
May love bade you go to Jesus feet in worship today and may His resurrection life fill you with joy, strength, and praises in His presence. Hallelujah!
