Dwelling In The Shelter
Today's Word of Encouragement from Wayne:
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the almighty"
Psalm 91:1
Bless the name of our Lord Jesus, when you and I minister to our Lord we are actually dwelling "in the shelter of the Most High." God’s presence is a shelter for us, always awaiting our entrance. I praise God for the awareness of being sheltered, in Him, when I minister to the Lord. It is beyond me why any Christian would miss out on this clearly and often stated part of our spiritual identity, as priests to our Lord (1st Peter 2:4-9, Revelation 1:5-6, 5:9-10, Ephesians 2:19-22, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Acts 13:1-2)so we may, among other great spiritual blessings, experience the real-time sheltering presence of God.
God intends His presence to be a shelter for us and our awareness of this tremendous spiritual truth should keep us coming back time and again for that special bond of oneness and protection that is freely ours as we minister to our beloved God in His presence. We are in the "shadow of the almighty" when we exercise our priesthood to God. What a privilege! Many may think this is all high sounding spiritual nonsense, but they do not know what I have been knowing for more than 40 years, namely that the Bible is true on this point of our priesthood and God’s abiding presence, along with all the healthy, God honoring, Christ centering, Holy Spirit filling benefits that come from our times in His presence.
In the book of Acts, Peter was appealing to people to repent and come to Christ "in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19). This is true, times of refreshing DO come from God’s presence. So let us bring ourselves, even now, as priests unto God, into God’s refreshing and sheltering presence. Let God shelter you today. Hallelujah!
